  Unknown Menck in Sweden

Hello!

There is a Menck with some kind of semi homemeade backhoe Equipment for sale in Sweden at the moment. I do not know what model it is, but maybe someone here knows what model it could be?

With best regards

Thank you Phoenix!

That finally puts an end to the old story about the M152.
According to the previous owner it was brought to Norway by the German army during the war and was later sold to Sweden.
Apparently it was fitted with an Electric motor, which was changed to a Scania-Vabis eight cylindre diesel in the fifties.
One of my friends had it started a couple of Days ago and both the drums and brakes are still working.

Hej Anders!

Disappointingly the World War II story can not be true. The excavator has the serial number 29906, that means it was built in 1949. Also to me it looks like it was originally fitted with a Diesel engine, since it has the fuel tank in the upper rear part of the body (where usually the "MENCK" letters were installed).
Concerning the backhoe you are right, that is definitely no Menck construction.
This is the early version of the M 152 which looks similar to its predecessor Mb (compare the b/w picture), and it looks to me some major conversions had been done through the years, for instance the oven to defrost (a Menck unique feature) the feet had been removed and the front part of the body is in unusual shape. Apparently a lot of work but an interesting machine anyway. I think the community would appreciate more photos and to know how the story continues.

Lycka till

Michael

Dear Sirs!
Thank you for your answers!

I saw this machine for the first time in 1997, and already then it looked quite derelict. The WWII story was published in a Swedish paper about 15 years ago, but I thought it sounded a Little bit too much to be true.
This machine is due to be scrapped in a very short time, but I have been told that everything on the site is for sale...

I will see if I have any more photos and keep you updated! jo
